Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that it is important to constantly evaluate and improve the effectiveness of Government schemes being run for development and public welfare, otherwise the governments will remain unaware of the reality. Development is meaningless unless it does not reach the poor. The Chief Minister was addressing the MoU signature programme organised at Minto Hall for institutional partnership between NITI Aayog and Atal Behari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis. Co-operatives Minister Arvind Singh Bhadauria, Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog Rajiv Kumar, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Vice-Chairman of Institute of Good Governance Dr Sachin Chaturvedi were present in the programme. Representatives from various universities and research institutes also took part. Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi dreamt of a glorious, magnificent, prosperous and flourishing India while giving the slogan ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
 
He believed that strength of country lies within the states. Based on this, the concept of NITI Aayog came into existence to implement the idea of ??cooperative federalism. It is a platform where subject matter experts discuss various topics, problems and lead the way for implementation of their effective and practical solutions. Referring to Ladli Laxmi Yojana, scheme for supply of cycles to the girl child and adherence to Citizen’s Charter within the time-limit, he said that practical evaluation of the effectiveness of the schemes would help in improving the schemes, and making them people-oriented and development-oriented. The Institute of Good Governance will function more effectively with the cooperation and guidance of NITI Aayog in these activities. With the MoU having been signed today, this day will prove to be historic for the state’s development.
