NAGPUR Gymkhana boys and Amma FC girls emerged champions of the Police Boys Youth Cup Futsal Tournament organised at The Cage Turf, Koradi Road near Eden Garden Restaurant, recently. In the boys section, Nagpur Gymkhana defeated Ajni Boys 4-3 in an edge of the seat encounter. Cristopher Peter (4th) shot Nagpur Gymkhana ahead but Ajni Boys drew parity within a minute through Swapnil. Iqbal Danish and Tony Ghargate scored two quick goals for Ajni Boys to put them in a comfortable position. However, Nagpur Gymkhana’s Rahul Neware levelled the scores (2-2) in the 18th minute to make the game more exciting. Stanley Peter then bulged the net twice in 23rd and 27th minute to help his side record a thrilling win. Stanley was named man of the match as well as player of the tournament while Anthony Peter won the best goalkeeper award.
 
In the girls’ section, Amma Football Club thrashed Error 404 FC 7-1 to run away with the glittering trophy. Experienced Annie Anthony started the proceedings with an early goal in the 3rd minute for Amma FC. Muskan Upadhyay added another in the 7th. Rinky Yadav scored two goals in one minute to take the match away from Error 404. Dominating the game, Muskan added another in the 18th minute. Gargi Koreti reduced the margin for Error 404 in the 20th minute but that only brought more pain for her side as Sunita Yadav (22nd) scored the sixth goal for Amma FC.
 
Muskan rounded it off in the 27th minute to make it 7-1 for Amma FC. Rinky Yadav was named player of the match while Muskan was declared as the player of the tournament. Manya Patel won the best goalkeeper award. Total 32 boys and eight girls teams took part in the knock-out competition. Tauseef Khan, Pramod Singh Thakur were the guest of the prize distribution function. Sujit Mishra, Sagar Mishra, Sahil Mishra and Yash Shukla worked hard for the success of the tournament.
