Ugale qualifies for pre-natls

HAVING finished a creditable fifth in the Maharashtra Air and Fire Arm Competition that concluded recently in Mumbai, Rahul Uttamrao Ugale qualified for 30th All India GV Mavlankar Shooting Championship going to be held at Ahmedabad, in Gujarat. Ugale, who is a 10m shooting range coach at Shri Hanuman Prasarak Mandal Shooting Club, has qualified in 50m pistol event. He is the only 50m shooter from Amravati. As there is no facility for training 50m shooting there, Ugale, before participating in any tournament goes to Nashik for practising a couple of days before the event. He gets coaching from Shiv Chhatrapti Awardee Shraddha Nalamwar. Earlier this year in March, Ugale qualified for national championship in 10m pistol shooting.
 
He had finished eighth in the 8th West Zone Shooting Championship that was held in Mumbai, where players from six states took part. Chief Secretary of the mandal Padma Shri Prabhakarrao Vaidya, Secretary Dr Madhuri Chendke, Working President Dr Ramesh Godbole, Treasurer Dr Suresh Deshpande, Vice-President Dr Shrikant Chendke, Prof Lalit Sharma, Anand Mahajan, teachers, coaches, employees and student of the mandal congratulated Ugale and wished him good luck for the upcoming events.
