5 from city to attend Mah hockey trials

FIVE girl hockey players from Nagpur will be attending the final selection trials of Maharashtra senior team which will be held at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mahalunge, Balewadi, Pune, on September 17. The trials will be conducted by Hockey Maharashtra. Nagpur District Unified Hockey Association (NDUHA), which is yet to get affiliation of Hockey Maharashtra, picked five best players from district for the senior women’s selection trials. Twenty players attended the two days trials conducted at Vidarbha Women’s Hockey Association Ground, Sadar. Those selected include Muskan Bhupendra Upadhyay, Jyuthika Vitthal Bodkhe, Monali Rajendra Khewale, Zabiya Abdul Gani Khan and Sweta Anil Munghate. The standbys are:. Palak Brijesh Sharma, Kanak Kishor Zodape and Shikha Kishor Kalakoti. The selected 18 players will represent the Hockey Maharashtra team in the forthcoming Hockey India Senior Women’s National Championship likely to be held in October, informs a release issued by Pramod Jain, Secretary, NDUHA.
