CALLING for a decisive fight against gross violations of the laws of the country right under the nose of the Government by the big foreign e-commerce companies with the malicious intentions, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) launched a month long national campaign ‘E-commerce per Halla Bol’ on September 15. Local trade organisation under the banner of CAIT staged ‘Dharna’ in more than 500 cities of different states of the country including Delhi. CAIT National President B C Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal in a joint statement said that the protest Dharna’s organised in every corner of the country proved that traders across the country have mobilised against the monopoly business model of big foreign e-commerce companies.

 

They also said that all buffoons of foreign funded e-commerce companies including the Niti Aayog and handful of industry organisation are speaking language of foreign e-tailers to protect their interests which has grossly irked the traders. “CAIT will expose them at appropriate time,” the trade leaders pointed out. Both Bhartia and Khandelwal openly challenged these foreign e-commerce companies saying, “They should no longer consider our India of 1857 and give up the idea of making themselves another version of the East India Company, as this is the India of 2021 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which the traders of the country know how to give a befitting reply to the foreign companies.”

 

The manner in which foreign e-commerce companies have violated Indian laws through their arbitrariness, and dishonesty has resulted in lakhs of shops in the country especially mobile, grocery, FMCG etc., to close down. “Now traders will not tolerate this and until the Government does not implement the rules of e-commerce and free the e-commerce business from the devious clutches of foreign companies, the traders will continue their aggressive campaign across the country,” CAIT said. CAIT has also called a two-day national conference of prominent business leaders of all the states of the country in Varanasi to discuss a complete all India strike on September 30 and October 1.
