3 held for loot

Raipur’s Kabir Nagar police have arrested three youths for allegedly looting a labourer in the outskirts of the city. The accused were identified as Pitambar Sahu (24), Ajay Kumar Sahu (20) and Bharat Yadav (18), all residents of Raipur, said police sources, elaborating that Ajay had spent jail term for his alleged involvement in loot and other crimes. Police recovered a looted gold locket, Rs 1500 cash and a bicycle. Besides, a two-wheeler (CG 04 NH 6286) and a knife used in the crime were also seized from the accused trio.
 
The accused looted a labourer identified as Dharmendra Yadav, a resident of village Sondongri in Raipur, on Tendua Road by taking him at knifepoint. Based on a tip-off that few youths are distributing money among themselves near Hirapur liquor shop, a police team swung into action and detained them. The accused trio confessed to the crime.
