Umred police have registered a case of kidnapping after a nine-year-old girl went missing from Makardhokda village on Umred-Butibori road on Sunday. Special teams of Local Crime Branch and Umred police station are continuously searching for the girl for last 48 hours, police officials said. A police official said that the girl was living with grandparents at Makardhokda and her parents stay at Butibori. She was the student of Standard IV. On Sunday afternoon, she told the grandparents that she was going to attend nature’s call and left the home.

 

When the girl did not return home till late evening, the grandparents approached the police station and lodged a complaint. An offence under Section 363 of Indian Penal Code was registered by Umred police. During investigation, the police came across two persons who noticed the girl walking on a road. The police have checked many places near the village, but the girl was not traced so far.
