VIDARBHA all-rounder Atharva Taide celebrated scoring 1000 runs as a professional player in a season for Lancaster Cricket Club by hammering an unbeaten ton guiding his team to an emphatic 130-run win over Fulwood and Broughton Cricket Club (FBCC) in Division One match of Northern Premier Cricket League at Lune Road Cricket Ground. FBCC elected to field and seamer Jon Fenton gave them an early breakthrough cleaning up Lancaster opener Steven Fisher for nought. Taide (132*; 117b, 14x4, 1x6) joined Jamie Heywood (13) and added 41 runs for the second wicket. Taide and Eddie Steinson (40; 68b, 6x4) played well stitching 97 run-partnership but after that none of the Lancaster batters could stay for long.
 
Taide was still going strong when the team was bowled out for 247 in 46.4 overs. Lancaster new ball bowler Damar Graham (12.1-2-33-5) gave the team an excellent start and went on to five a five-wicket haul. Bowling left-arm spin, Taide (7-3-10-2) accounted for a couple of wickets as FBCC could manage just 117 before being shot out for in 38.1 overs. Chore shines in North Down win FORMER Vidarbha stumper Aniruddha Chore continues to impress in his debut season with North Down in Ireland. Chore’s sensible knock at the top helped his team beat CIYMS by four wickets in the Challenge Cup match played at The Green Comber. Asked to bat, CIYMS made a reasonable 251 before being all out in 48 overs. Opening the innings while chasing, Chore made a well-compiled 83 from 98 balls hitting six fours and one six. When he was third out at 226, the team was left with just formality to complete. North Down, however lost three more wickets in that period before romping home (254-6) in 46.2 overs.
