Bhopal Municipal Corporation is acting tough against those traders and shopkeepers who are using banned polythene. On Tuesday, it recovered fine of Rs 22,850 in 112 cases. It had in December month announced that substandard polythene causing severe threat to environment will be banned and action will be taken against those who are find using them, storing them and selling them. From the start of January month, BMC has embarked on the drive to check storage of prohibited polythene and is slapping fine on the violators. At the same time, it is also appealing shopkeepers to help it and not use the prohibited polythene.
