ACB nabs forester while accepting bribe of Rs 50000 ACF is co-accused

ANTI-CORRUPTION Bureau (ACB) Nagpur on Friday arrested a forester of Ramtek Forest Range for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 from an accused in Indian Forest Act case. ACB also booked an Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) in the case as co-accused.
 
The accused have been identified as ACF Sandip Giri (52), Forest Range, Salai, district - Nagpur and Forester Nishad Ali Hasan Ali Babinwale (53). An ACB official stated that the complainant was a labourer. A case was registered against the complainant and four others at Salai under Indian Forest Act. Their three vehicles were seized by the forest officials in this case. The accused duo demanded Rs one lakh bribe from the complainant to provide him a copy of FIR and also scale down charges against him.
 
The complainant approached the ACB office and lodged a complaint. The ACB official verified the demand and laid a trap. Forester Nishad Ali was arrested by ACB while accepting the bribe, while ACF Giri is on the run. An offence under Prevention of Corruption Act was registered at Deolapar police station. Under the guidance of SP Rakesh Ola, the arrest was made by Addl SP Madhukar Gite, DySP Anamika Mirzapure, PI Sarang Mirashi and staff including Dinesh Shiwale, Sarang Balpande, Sushil Yadav, Mangesh Kalambe, Geeta Choudhary, Asmita Meshram, Harish Ganjare, Suraj Bhongade, Amol Bhakte,Vinod Naygamkar and others.
