ARANG,

The State Government has approved construction of CC Road at village Panchayat Todgaon of Arang Development Block. A fund of Rs 5 lakh has been sanctioned for the project. After the approval of fund, District Panchayat Raipur speaker Anita Thansingh Sahu and Janpad Panchayat Arang president Rani Pawan Dhiver performed bhoomipujan to commence the project as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. They also took stock of the gothans. On the occasion, Todgaon Sarpanch Santosh Baswar, Panch Danveer Verma, Mukesh Nirmalkar, Danveer Sahu, Usha Verma, Dilharan, Yashwant Sahu, Vijay Yadav, Manihar Sahu, Shailesh Verma, Arun Verma, Damini Sahu, Ishwar Sahu, Naresh Yadav, Ramesh Sahu and Shailendra Verma were present. Sahu appeals to extend procurement date ARANG: The paddy procurement started at Arang block had been interrupted by unseasonal rainfall from December 29, 2021 to January 6, 2022 and then again from January 10 to 14, 2022.

As the paddy procurement is still not resumed fully due to inclement weather and it will remain closed on January 17 owing to public holiday, farmers are in fear about their paddy stock. The tokens given to farmers for the mentioned dates were also cancelled. So the local farmers may need more tokens. Taking up the issues, Co-operative Society Reewa President Daulat Ram Sahu has appealed Chief Executive Officer at District Co-operative Bank Arang/Raipur to extend the last date for procurement of paddy, so that the farmers, who had got token, can sell their complete stock of paddy. The Pradesh Sahu Sangh farmer cell’s organisation Secretary Chandrahas Sahu said that presently only 60 per cent paddy has been procured at the paddy procurement centres. Considering the status, the procurement target could be achieved by procuring 6000 paddy bags, which doesn’t seem possible right now. He appealed government-administration to extend the procurement date from January 31 to February 15, 2022.
