DALLIRAJHARA,

WANT of a public toilet at the old Bus Stand near Shaheed Veernarayan Singh Chowk of Dallirajhara has become a major cause of concern for passengers in general, particularly girls and women who are reported to be the worst sufferers. Despite being aware of the situation, the concerned authorities are yet to take a relevant step. As per information, the old Bus Stand near Shaheed Veernarayan Singh Chowk lacks several basic facilities for the passengers including availability of a toilet. All passengers including the girl and women passengers are amongst those suffering the most. According to information, the old Bus Stand, situated at Antagarh-Rajnandgaon State Highway, comes under ward no- 10.

It was constructed some 50 years ago and at every half hour, buses from Kanker, Antagarh, Pankhajur, Bhanupratappur and Durg come to this Bus Stand. People, particularly the mines workers from Mahamaya, Dondi, Chikhli, Dhobedand, Narratola and Darratola board catch buses from this Bus Stand. Despite knowing that a large number of people visit this Bus Stand everyday, the concerned authorities seem to be the least bothered about making needful arrangements for public convenience. Local people have demanded from the concerned authorities to make basic arrangements for them at the Bus Stand at earliest.

When contacted, Dallirajhara Municipal Council Vice President Santosh Dewangan said that due to ward 10 being a BSP affected area, public toilets could not be built so far. He said that an NOC has been sought from BSP and they were waiting for it. Municipal Council President Shibu Nayar said that there was not even a single public toilet in the ward. He added that they had sought an NOC from BSP administration and after they get the NOC, a place will be selected and toilet construction will be started after necessary procedures.
