A large number of Green bee-eater birds have started appearing in flocks at rivers, streams and fields around Pandaria block. Because of the drop in temperature, these birds are seen sitting adjacent to each other in the form of a string in order to keep themselves safe from cold. Green bee-eaters are very attractive birds that are green in colour. Their beak is long and blue in color whereas back and head is golden in colour. Their main food is bees. They put out the sting or venom of the bee before eating it. The breeding season of these birds is from March to June. They lay three to five eggs at a time. Pandaria SDO (Forest) Jashveer Singh Maravi said that Green bee-eater birds weigh around 20 to 25 grams. A total of 27 species of these birds are generally found.

These birds are mainly found in the continent of Asia and Africa. He said that Blue-tailed bee-eaters are also present in large numbers along with Green bee-eaters in the Pandaria region. They are larger in size than Green bee-eaters. Their tail is blue in color and the colour near their throat is golden. The nest of these birds is different from other birds. They do not make their homes on the branches of buildings or trees but build tunnel-like nests on the banks of rivers. They stay in these tunnels till the hatchlings hatch and fly. After this, they leave their nests.
