MeT Department warns of light foggy conditions in some pockets of CG today

DESPITE sun being in full glow, wintry conditions have scooped down the mercury level below at many places across State on Sunday. According to the local MeT Department officials, days have become relatively cooler and nights are experiencing chilly conditions in Raipur and across State. Following heavy snow fall in upper reaches of Northern India and north western region being under grip of frosty conditions, the mercury level has also dipped significantly in Central India including Chhattisgarh. The combination of chilly winds and dipping temperature is all set to dominate during coming days with cold conditions expected to increase its impact further across the state.
 
The influence of bright sunshine was overshadowed with the light cool winds reminding of wintry conditions bringing down the maximum and minimum mercury level by one to four notches below the normal in Raipur. Meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature of 7.2 degree Celsius and 9.8 degrees of the day was recorded at Ambikapur and Pendra Road respectively. Similarly, highest maximum temperature of 27.2 degree Celsius was recorded at Jagdalpur. The weathermen has informed that cold winds coming from Northern and North Western region has brought down the temperature below the normal at maximum places in State. Met Centre has forecast of dry weather conditions in all divisions of State on January 3. Sky will be clear over Raipur with maximum and minimum temperature expected at around 25.0 degrees and 15.0 degree Celsius on Monday. There is a warning of light foggy conditions at some pockets early morning on Monday.
