The newly-introduced system would expedite the development of cities, and save time-energy of applicants: Baghel

Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the online direct building permit system for construction of buildings on residential plots of up to 500 sq.m (5382 sq.ft) in urban areas, in a programme organised at his residence office on Monday. Under this system, building permits will be issued without human intervention. CM said that the State Government has consistently and dedicatedly worked for 3 years for the development of villages and cities of the State, and now we are adding one more facility to this list. This newly-introduced building permit system will expedite the infrastructure development in cities of the State. This system would offer an effective solution to the existing problems in the permit issuance process. Building permit issuance is an important process for the citizens of the State who want to build their own house, but earlier this process was complicated, time-taking and not easily accessible, required map approval from several officials. But now this entire process will be free from human intervention and will be completed in shorter duration.

If the applicant has all the required documents, then getting the permit to build a house would be a matter of second. Considering the inconvenience faced by the common people, CM gave instructions to the officers concerned 15 days ago to solve the existing problems. And as per CM’s instructions, the department has completed the work within 15 days. The Chief Minister congratulated the department and everyone involved in the process of developing this system. Chief Minister also congratulated the citizens for this brand new facility which will help them build the house of their dream in a shorter time period. On this occasion, Chief Minister issued the first building permit from the system to the applicant Chetan Dev Sahu, a resident of Daldalseoni, Raipur. Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar, Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr Shivkumar Dahriya, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahoo, Secretary of Urban Administration and Development Department Department Alramelmangai D, SUDA CEO Saumil Ranjan Choubey, Additional CEO Ashish Tikriha and departmental officers were present in the programme. All the municipal commissioners, mayors and public representatives of the State also participated in this programme through virtual medium.

On this occasion, Mayor Raipur Aijaz Dhebar, Bilaspur Mayor Ramsharan Yadav and Durg Mayor Dheeraj Bakliwal thanked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for inaugurating this easy-to-access system of issuing building permits. Minister Dr Shivkumar Dahriya, in his address to the programme, said that all the existing problems have been addressed in this newly implemented online building permit system. Separate dashboards have been made in this system for the public representatives, commissioners and engineers, on which the applications received on a daily basis are displayed along with the information about approval, permissions and pending cases. The commissioners, construction officers, building inspectors and other officers of all the municipal corporations have been trained to use the new direct building permit system, through a state-level workshop. In this new system, we have reposed trust on the citizens and permission is being issued only on the basis of documents and affidavit submitted by the applicant. The CM has appealed the people to take advantage of this service in the right way and get building permit issued only on the basis of correct information. During the programme, a presentation was made by the Departmental Secretary Alarmelmangai D. regarding the permission system.
