The number 404 in computer language is treated as an error. People of the district prayed it was an erroneous entry indeed as messages about 404 people testing positive in the district in a single day made rounds late in the evening. While Nagpur was the major contributor, other Vidarbha districts also recorded high number of cases taking the tally of cases to a whopping 608 on Wednesday. In last just 11 days the number of new COVID-19 cases have registered massive increase and positivity rate of Wednesday was 20%. Of the 404 cases, Nagpur rural has reported 49 new cases. Twenty six persons who tested positive for coronavirus are not the residents of district. The city has crossed 300 mark as 329 persons were tested positive. With these, cumulative cases reached 4,94,926. Of the cumulative cases, 6,986 persons who tested positive are not the residents of district. With constant rise in single day cases, the recovery rate continued to fall. On Wednesday, too it has gone down to 97.74%. With 24 persons becoming free from coronavirus, the cumulative recovery reached 4,83,727.
 
The active cases reached at its peak as Wednesday’s count stood at 1,076. Fortunately on Wednesday, too nobody died of coronavirus The cumulative death count stood at 10,123. Of the cumulative death number, 1,626 persons who died of COVID were not the residents of district. The daily testing count in district has registered further rise to 8,107. Nagpur rural too has reported rise to 2,886. Nagpur city’s testing count increased by 1,000 as its testing count stood at 5,221 testing. This has taken the cumulative testing to With these the cumulative testing reached 42,61,173. The samples examined through RT PCR were 7,042 while 1,056 were through Rapid Antigen Test. Apart from the samples of Nagpur district, the people from Nagpur and out of city approached various laboratories in Nagpur to get themselves examined. The samples came for examination at various laboratories in Nagpur.
 
These laboratories include two State-run hospitals including virology laboratory of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) (1,230) and Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) (1,176). The Central Government run, molecular diagnostic laboratory of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) (1,100) too is there. One central Government run-institute National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) (148). Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) (0) and private laboratories (3,380) are too contributing. Some laboratories are doing Antigen (1,065) test.
