FIVE miscreants have been arrested for stealing iron and wire from electric tower. The police also recovered the stolen items from the accused. Before the arrest, police had sent them a notice, seeking documents regarding the scrap. When the accused failed to produce the documents, they were arrested and the items were seized. Police got a tip-off that a scrap dealer Mohammad Salman had some electric tower angles, cable and wires in his shop and the latter was looking for customer to sell these. Police raided his shop and found all these items.

 

The cops sent a notice to the scrap dealer, asking for the necessary documents, but he failed to produce them. Police seized 5 angles, 50-m aluminum wire from Mohammad Salman, 5 angles 6 pieces of 50-m aluminum wire from Karkhana Mohalla- resident Vijay Agrawal, 5 angles from Belhabhatha- resident Ashok Kumar, 4 angles from Nageshwar and 50-m aluminum wire and 5 pieces of 8m aluminum cable from Chhurikala- resident Devansh Dewangan. All the accused were presented in the court and sent to jail. Katghora police are still looking for the miscreants who allegedly cut down parts of 440 KV high-tension tower of Vandana Power Plant, Katghora.
