SENSATION prevailed in Hudkeshwar area after two brothers and a juvenile delinquent brutally killed a youth with sharp-edged weapons over a petty issue Friday night. Identified as Jitendra Vikas Chopde (25), the deceased was a resident of Pipla Fata. Cops arrested accused Vijay Rajesh Ugreja (28), his brother Ravi Ugreja, both residents of 136, Swarbandhe Layout, Hudkeshwar Naka, and detained a juvenile delinquent in this connection. Around 9 pm, Jitendra and his friends Prakash Rajesh Tiwari and Saurabh Bharadwaj were returning triple-seat on a moped after enjoying dinner at Trimurti Dhaba. Their moped brushed past each other in the Chandrakiran Nagar lane near Canara Bank. Jitendra hurled obscene abuses at Vijay leading to an argument between them. After heated exchanges, Vijay called his brother Ravi and a 17-year-old boy in conflict with the law.

 

The accused trio then attacked Jitendra with sharp-edged weapons on his chest, abdomen and head killing him on the spot. When Jitendra’s friend Prakash tried to rescue him, Vijay, Ravi and the boy also stabbed him knives injuring him seriously. Jitendra and Prakash were rushed to Government Medical College & Hospital where the former was declared ‘brought dead’ on admission. After recording the statement of injured Prakash, Hudkeshwar Police registered a case under Sections 302, 324, 504 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against Vijay, Ravi and the juvenile delinquent. 

 

Tension in Hudkeshwar as kin demand arrest of two more persons TENSION ran high on Saturday when hundreds of friends, family members, relatives and well wishers of Jitendra Chopde brought his body in front of Hudkeshwar Police Station demanding arrest of two more persons in the sensational murder case. They charged that police were giving clean chit to two others for reasons best known to them. A police officer informed ‘The Hitavada’ that Jitendra’s body was handed over to his family members after the post-mortem. They then took the body to his house. On way to the crematorium, they brought the body in front of the police station. After senior officers assured them that they would conduct an impartial probe into the matter and arrest two others, if found guilty, they took the body for performing the last rites.
