The matter of theft of goods from the Encroachment Department of the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has gathered as a number of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporators reached the JMC headquarters on Thursday and submitted a memorandum to the Municipal Commissioner. They demanded the JMC administration to take strict action against guilty officials and employees.

The BJP corporators said the whole incident is captured in the CCTV camera. As per records, a vehicle arrived at the the Municipal Corporation headquarters, the goods were filled in it and then the vehicle was taken out very easily. It clearly showed alleged involvement of the JMC officials and employees in the incident, alleged the corporators. It may be noted that a theft incident was reported recently in the Encroachment Department located at JMC headquarters. In the incident there was a lot of damage to JMC’s property. Expressing ire over the incident, BJP corporators met the Municipal Commissioner and demanded stringent action against guilty officers and employees. They also demanded the JMC administration to lodge FIR against guilty employees and suspend them immediately. The corporators said such incident must not be tolerated under any circumstances.
