ST JOHN’S High School started with a two-goal victory over hosts Indian Friends Football Club on opening day of St Mary’s Football Academy organised 7-a-side Baby Football League at St Mary’s School ground, Jaffar Nagar, on Sunday. Both the goals were scored by Mohd Umair in 12th and 20th minutes of play. In the other match, Kick Soccer India Koradi beat DDYS 2-1. Siddhant Raut and Nirbhay Bhange were the scorers for Kick Soccer. For DDYS, Amrutanubhav Dongre scored one.

 

Twenty teams are taking part in the tournament. They are divided into four groups. Top two teams from each group will make it to quarter-finals. Tournament was inaugurated by Biswajeet Dey, Sports Secretary, SECR. Shrikant Roy, Anirudha Sarvate, Amit Sakhare, Savio Andrew, Savio Anthony, Ankush Bhadange, Nitin Kotulwar, Arik Anthony and others were present.
