About 1,70,328 square feet land of the United Christian Missionary Society has been registered in the name of the government. The district administration has, on Thursday, taken possession of Sadbhawana Bhawan build on the land. On the other hand, the administration has given time to Vikas Asha Kendra, Food Corporation of India and Indian Overseas Bank to vacate the land.
The action has been taken after the scam of crores of rupees committed by former Bishop P C Singh in missionary lands came to light. The district administration had cancelled the lease of the said land, after which it becomes government property.
It may be noted that the Additional Collector’s Court on September23 issued an order cancelling the lease of plot no. 15/1, 15/8, 15/9, 15/10, 15/15, 15/16, 15/17, 15/30, 15/31 and 15/42 total 1,70,328.7 sq feet land of Nazul Block no. 4 Napier Town of P C Singh through United Christian Missionary Society and directed Tehsildar Ranjhi to register it in the name of Revenue Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. After the land was registered in the name of the government, abovementioned four institutions were directed to vacate the possession by October 26. Accordingly, senior administrative officials reached the site and took possession of Sadbhawana Bhawan and sealed it. Apart from that they by giving few more days asked Indian Overseas Bank, Asha Development Center and Food Corporation of India management to vacate the building. It is may be mentioned that that action has been taken after the EOW exposed the scam of crores of rupees by Christian religious leader and former Bishop P C Singh on the missionary's land. Singh himself bought some part of the lease land by selling it at cheap prices.
