JMC expedites anti-encroachment drive

The Anti-Encroachment Department of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has expedited the ongoing drive to rid city of illegal posters, banners and flexes which are ruining beauty of the city. The anti-encroachment squad, on Friday conducted drive in many areas and removed unauthorized posters, banners. The employees of the department carried out drive on route from Gorakhpur to Bandaria crossing, Chhoti line crossing to Madan Mahal, Gokalpur to Ranjhi, Deendayal chowk to ITI and other areas.
Deputy Commissioner, Manoj Shrivastava informed that the department is taking such action under Swachhata Abhiyan and removing illegal banners, posters and flexes which are erected at public property within city limits.
Shrivastava said unauthorized banners and posters ruins the beauty of the city and also spoils the efforts of Municipal Corporation of making Jabalpur a clean city. Hence, Municipal Commissioner Ashish Vashist has directed senior officials of anti-encroachment department to remove all unauthorized banners and posters. Accordingly, the anti-encroachment department conducted the drive and removed more than 150 illegal posters, banners during the drive, on Friday. Likewise, the health department of the JMC also seized huge quantity of banned plastic carry bags and realized heavy fine from shopkeepers
