Members of City Congress Committee paid glowing tributes to Jawaharlal Nehru, first Prime Minister of India on his birth anniversary, on Monday. Congressmen gathered at Nehru garden and garlanded the statue Pt. Nehru.
Speaking on the occasion, City Congress President Jagat Bahadur Singh said the first PM of India, Pandit Nehru laid the strong foundation of such a developing India, due to which today we are going to become a superpower of the world. Singh said divisive forces are not able to succeed in their plans of destroying the country which respect for all religions, respect for all classes and gives equal rights and freedom to every citizen. He said right from freedom movement to independent India, Nehru family had an unforgettable contribution in building India which cannot be forgotten. Later a number of Congressmen also expressed their views on the occasion.
