Kanchanmala bags three golds in para nationals

KANCHANMALA Pande, a member of Aqua Sports Club brought laurels to the city by winning three gold medals at the 22nd National Paralympic Swimming Championship -2022 organised by Paralympic Committee of India and hosted by Paralympic Association of Assam at Guwahati.
For her achievement Kanchanmala was felicitated at NIT Swimming Pool by Ashwin Janbandhu, Manager (Operations), Midland Sports in the august presence of Mangesh Gadre, Secretary, Aqua Sports Club, chief coach of ASC, ASCA Level-5 coach Vishal Chandurkar and Vivek Javade of Midland Sports.
Kanchanmala, a visually impaired swimmer, won the gold medals in category S-11 in the event 100 metres freestyle, 100 metres backstroke and 100 metres breaststroke. Kanchanmala will be representing India at Asian Paralympic Games China to be held in 2023.
Working in RBI as a Class-I officer, Kanchanmala trains under the able guidance of senior coach Dr Pravin Lamkhade (NSNIS, Patiala) and ASCA Level-5 coach Chandurkar.
Aqua Sports Club President Mohan Nahatkar, Secretary Mangesh Gadre, Director Midland Sports Prashant Ugemuge, Vice-President Operations Midland Sports Preeti Lanjekar, Manager Operations Midland Sports Ashwin Janbandhu, Kanchanmala’s husband Vinod Deshmukh, others congratulated Kanchanmala for her achievement.
