STUMPER Rohit Binkar’s unbeaten big hundred and his two partnerships with Tushar Suryavanshi and Danish Malewar helped Vidarbha colts make a brilliant start against Haryana in their Cooch Behar match at JR Institute of Cricket Technology ground in Barwala, Haryana on Saturday. Making first use of the turf, Vidarbha batsmen made merry as they piled up 338 losing just two wickets in 90 overs on the opening day of the four-day fixture. After Vidarbha lost opener Neel Athaley (5) early, the other opener Tushar Suryavanshi (81; 160b, 11x4, 2x6) and Rohit Binkar (150*; 225b, 20x4, 5x6) put on 169 in 256 balls. Later, and Binkar Danish Malewar (87*; 120b, 14x4, 1x6) added 150 for the unfinished third wicket. Haryana used as many as eight bowlers but only Samant Jakhar (16-4-48-2) ticked the wickets’ column.
