Lokayukta nabs reader of SDOP Office in Narsinghpur for taking bribe of Rs 30,000

Lokayukta Police Special Establishment, Jabalpur nabbed a reader of SDOP Office in Narsinghpur while taking bribe of Rs 30,000 for settling the case of Dowry Act, on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as Sanjay Dixit, posted as Reader at SDOP Office, Narsinghpur.
DSP, Lokayukta, Dilip Jharbade informed that appellant named Mer Singh, a resident of Magardha village in Narsinghpur lodged a written complaint with the Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta Jabalpur, Sanjay Sahu that his daughter-in-law Pushpa Loriya who was no ailing since a long time and later she died. Before her death, his daughter-in-law lodged a complaint of her exploitation for demand of dowry. Acting on the complaint, Gadarwara police had registered a case under Dowry Act. He was called by SDOP Office for investigation into the case. He reached the office where reader Sanjay Dixit demanded bribe of Rs. 65,000 for settlement of case. On Wednesday, he reached to pay first installment of Rs 30,000 to Sanjay Dixit at SDOP Office. Acting on the complaint, SP, Lokayukta constituted a team and fielded the appellant for collecting evidences.
Once the information was verified, Lokayukta police team led by DSP, Dilip Jharbade comprised of Inspector, Swapnil Das, Manju Tirkey and team reached at SDOP Office and trapped the corrupt reader while taking the bribe of Rs. 30,000 from the appellant. Lokayukta police have registered a case against the corrupt government employee under relevant Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act while further investigations are underway.
