Sleuths of Lokayukta Police special establishment, Jabalpur caught a Patwari while taking bribe of Rs 3,000 for updating online land record and making of loan book from the appellant at Seoni Tehsil office, on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Vipul Barmaiyya, posted as Patwari at Tehsil Office Seoni district. According to Lokayukta police Jabalpur, appellant named Sanjay Tiwari, son of late Keval Prasad Tiwari (44), a resident of Kabir Ward, Dunda village in Seoni lodged a complaint with the Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta Jabalpur, Sanjay Sahu that he had filed an application for updating the online Khasra and making of loan book in the name of his mother. He several times contacted at tehsil office when Patwari named Vipul Barmaiyya demanded bribe of Rs 3,000 for updating the online land record and making of loan book. Taking a serious note on the complaint, SP, Lokayukta
constituted a team and fielded the appellant for collecting evidences.
Once the information was verified, Lokayukta police team comprised of Inspector, Kamal Singh Uike, Inspector, Naresh Kumar Behra, Inspector, Ranjit Singh and team reached at tehsil office and trapped the corrupt Patwari while taking the bribe of Rs. 3,000 from the appellant. Lokayukta police have registered a case against the corrupt government employee under relevant Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act while further investigations are underway.
