IN-FORM batters Rohit Binkar and Danish Malewar made most of their purple patch scoring a double ton and an unbeaten big hundred plundering Bihar on opening day of their Cooch Behar Trophy match at Urja stadium in Patna on Saturday. Stumper Rohit (217; 264b, 13x4, 11x6) and Danish (159*; 211b, 19x4, 2x6) sent Bihar fielders on a leather hunt as they added a record 337 for the third wicket as Vidarbha amassed 411-3 in 90.4 overs. Once Binkar was set, he toyed with the bowing sending the cherry 13 times to the ropes and 11 times over it. In comparison, Danish preferred ground strokes more. In the last over of the day, the 430-ball was broken.

It was the only way, the batsman, with supreme touch, would have got out...run out. At the outset, Vidarbha won the toss and elected to bat. They lost Neel Athaley for a 12-ball single. From 6-1, the other opener Tushar Suryavanshi (19; 58b, 3x4) and Rohit took the score to 74 in 19 overs. After Tushar’s dismissal, the duo took over and but for that freak run out, they were in complete control of the situation scoring at will. Vidarbha’s runs came thick and fast at over 4.5 runs per over. Danish has chance to score his second double century of the tournament, adding to his first that he got at home against Manipur. Brief scores: Vidarbha 411-3 in 90-4 overs (R Binkar 217, D Malwewar 159*; P Chaubey 1-61, Aditya 1-97) vs Bihar.
