A faux-pas or a wise prophecy, only time will tell, but Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Spokesperson-cum-MLA Ajay Chandrakar heated up the state politics by predicting that Ramvichar Netam will ascend the seat of Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister after 11 months at a programme in Durg on Wednesday.
Ajay Chandrakar made this prediction at the Chhattisgarh Bachao programme organised by BJP at Risali, Durg district. Senior BJP leaders as former Minister Ramvichar Netam, Ajay Chandrakar and Ramsheela Sahu also graced the programme. Spicing up his address to the gathering, Ajay Chandrakar said that it’s only a matter of 11 months until Ramvichar Netam would ascend the Chief Minister’s seat. But as soon as he stepped down from the podium, Chandrakar swiftly did a back-flip on his statement given a few minutes ago.
Congress couldn’t let this opportunity go and taunted Congress Spokesperson R P Singh asking whether Ajay Chandrakar has more authority than the BJP’s organisational office-bearers. Ajay Chandrakar later came up with clarification that he said those things with regard to a woman Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), who is evaluating the medical college. If she could tell the price of Tesla MRI machine then Ramvichar Netam will become Chief Minister after 11 months. Netam will promote her to IAS. Chandrakar also refused to comment on question whether Ramvichar Netam will be the Chief Minister candidate in next State Legislative Assembly election, saying he never said this. But, Congress Spokesperson R P Singh said that BJP has already decided to fight election on someone’s face instead of concerted leadership. R P Singh said is Ajay Chandrakar has attained bigger position in BJP than Om Mathur, Nitin Navin and Ajay Jamwal that he dared to announce name of Chief Minister candidate out of his free will.
