Union Minister of Road Transport and National Highways Nitin Gadkari praised Chhattisgarh Government’s decision to use cow dung paint for government buildings. He welcomed the decision terming it as ‘praiseworthy’.
Union Minister on Thursday wrote on his Tweeter account, “I congratulate Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel Ji for giving instructions to the officials pushing the use of natural paint made from cow dung in government departmental construction works. His decision is praiseworthy and worth welcoming.”
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I had started this when I was the MSME Minister. The use of natural paint will not only protect the environment but also provide a new employment opportunity to the farmers, which will benefit the farmers of the country,” he added. Talking to mediapersons in State Capital before leaving for Kasdol legislative assembly constituency on Thursday, Chief Minister Baghel said that the acceptability of Godhan Nyay Yojana of Chhattisgarh has enhanced after Union Minister Nitin Gadkari praised the State government’s decision to use cow-dung paint for colouring walls of the government buildings. Vermi-compost, lamps and other items are being made of cow dung. Now, natural paint is being manufactured from cow-dung. The cow-dung paint has been used for colouring the office of the Raipur Municipal Corporation. After that, it has been decided to use natural paint for colouring the school buildings. The Chhattisgarh government’s decision has been appreciated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who is known for his innovation and praises such work, said Baghel and added that he thanked the Union Minister for it. It may be mentioned hat Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has asked the Chief Secretary to issue instructions to all departments, corporations, and local bodies to compulsorily use cow dung paint for painting government buildings. Baghel said that the use of cow dung paint is crucial for strengthening the rural economy and environmental protection.
