The no-confidence motion brought against the State Government by the Congress in the Vidhan Sabha has once again exposed the internal tussle and discord among Congress camps in the State. During the discussion and debate on the proposal, all the senior leaders were absent or kept distant from the House. In their absence, leaders like Jitu Patwari resorted to lies and tried to malign the Government image, says most of BJP leaders, while reacting to the failure of the no-confidence motion.
Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, Bharatiya Janata Party State General Secretary and MLA Sartendu Tiwari said
“During the discussion on this proposal, the facts presented by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other ministers of the ruling party in the House have once again exposed the true colour of the Congress among the public. At the same time, the ongoing factionalism and upheaval in the Congress has also come to the fore before the public.”
Where did the State Congress President and leader of the Opposition go?
Sartendu Tiwari said that the no-confidence motion in the Assembly was moved by the Leader of the Opposition, Dr Govind Singh, who comes from Digvijay Singh’s camp. That’s why former Chief Minister and State Congress President Kamal Nath remained absent from the House during the discussion on the no-confidence motion. At the same time, Leader of Opposition Dr Govind Singh also went home on Wednesday night citing family reasons. Probably these senior Congress leaders already knew that they have nothing to speak against the government during the discussion on the no-confidence motion. At the same time, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath also knew very well that whatever allegations will be hurled by the Congress on the BJP government, it will backfire on his 15-month government. In such a situation, instead of fighting over the no-confidence motion brought by the Digvijay group, he thought it would be better to keep distance. Jeetu Patwari should apologises to public for lying: Sartendu Tiwari said that during the discussion on the no-confidence motion, he had made a false allegation that food was served several times at the state BJP office at the expense of the Government. The reply given by the General Administration Department which he presented on the floor of the House was also fabricated. Congress leader Jitu Patwari should apologise to the people of the State for the sin of misleading the Assembly and the people with lies and forged documents to increase his stature in the party.
