RAIPUR,
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Brijmohan Agrawal called Congress Government ‘Bankrupt’ and a ‘Career Killer’ of youths while reiterating BJP’s full support for the reservation.
In a press conference, Brijmohan Agrawal said that Congress Government doesn’t have funds to provide jobs to youths. Hence, they threw a spanner in the reservation policy. The State is riled up over the reservation issue and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is responsible for this upheaval.
Agrawal blamed Congress Government for reducing the Scheduled Tribe category’s 32 per cent reservation to 20 per cent and claimed that Congress kept Advocate General away from hearing on many occasions. However, when it comes to saving their tainted officers, Congress spends crores of rupees to hire the best advocates. Even the reservation bill was tabled after 70 days of the High Court reducing the reservation. The government didn’t bring any ordnance nor did they get a stay from the Supreme Court.
Agrawal demanded Congress Government to issue a white paper on steps taken regarding reservation in four years and said that Congress didn’t want SC/ST and EWS people to have reservation. There is still discontent amongst every category despite the reservation bill of 76 per cent. The Government also needs to publicise the answers furnished to Raj Bhawan and the report of the Quantifiable Data Commission.
Agrawal recalled that V P Singh’s Government supported by BJP implemented the reservation. Even then Congress had opposed it. First, they brought a reservation without any preparation and then conspired to get it cancelled by the Court. Agrawal quipped that Congress got their men to file a petition against reservation and then rewarded the petitioner. By ensuring the absence of the Advocate General during the hearing, Congress created conditions leading to cancelling of the OBC reservation. The Court cancelled the OBC reservation by considering it baseless. The government formed a quantifiable data commission and the Commission submitted the report, but the report was neither tabled in the State Assembly nor submitted to the Raj Bhavan. Agrawal alleged that Congress Government of irregularities in quantifiable data and demanded to make it public. It had never happened in the nation that a recruitment advertisement was published without a reservation roster, but Congress did it in Chhattisgarh. Congress is cheating everyone as they know no appointment is constitutionally possible in such a condition. After openly refusing to answer, Chief Minister later said they gave answers in the public interest. Why Congress Government is lying regarding questions asked by Raj Bhavan, Brijmohan Agrawal asked.
