Rajnandgaon,
Merely a month after it was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the new Circuit House of Rajnandgaon is locked due to unknown reasons. Though on the inaugural day, the circuit house constructed at a cost of Rs 4.80 crore was decked-up beautifully by the authorities but ever since then it is found locked and the entrances have been covered with bamboo barricades.
Meanwhile, when ‘The Hitavada’ correspondent tried enquiring about the issue, some activities were seen in the newly-dedicated building but it is yet to get fully functional. It is worth mentioning that Chief Minister Baghel had on November 23 inaugurated the newly-built circuit house and had also sanctioned Rs 7 crore for various development works under the jurisdiction of Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation. From the very next day of the inauguration, the circuit house was locked and the authorities concerned even blocked both the entrances through barricading. It is still unclear that the circuit house has been locked on whose directives and needs to be investigated. The officials of the Public Works Department including Executive Engineer S R Sinha and Circuit House In-charge P K Singhania have preferred to stay silent over the issue. Even the Congress leaders aware of the issue are yet to initiate any measures while the opposition BJP’s former MP Madhsudan Yadav and former CM Raman Singh’s son Abhishek Singh are preferring silence on the matter. Meanwhile, on being contacted Incharge Durg Commissioner Yashwant Kumar said that it is a serious issue if anything like this has happened after the inauguration. He also assured taking proper actions after enquiring about the matter. Meanwhile, K K Pipri from the Public Works department said that he will seek explanation from the officials and conduct an enquiry.
