In a hope to get country’s latest Vande Bharat Express in Bhopal Division, Railways is set to construct a maintenance and complete care center near Sant Hirdaram Nagar Station.

The center will be set up with cost of Rs 100 crore. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Saurabh Bandopadhyay said that Bhopal Division will soon get Vande Bharat Express. He said that Railway Ministry will be replacing the current rack of Indore-Bhopal-Jabalpur or Shatabadi Express and maintenance of the rack will be mandatory. Vacant land near Sant Hirdaram Nagar Station will be used to set up the maintenance and care center. This will also provide employment to the locals. Sources said that Bhopal Railway Division expect to get two rack of Vande Bharat train in March 2023. The train will be running at speed of 160 kmph. Concerned over the arrival of trail, Railways is making best effort to complete preparations for the trial of train between Bina-Itarsi 248 km of track at a faster pace.

Earlier, expectation were to get the train in September 2022. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had announced many times that the luxury level Vande Bharat Express would be run soon like Shatabadi. Coaches of this train are being made at ICF Factory, Chennai. Officials said that it takes 24 hour working to prepare a 16 coaches of rack. On 75th Independence Day, Prime Minister Modi had also announced to run 75 Vande Bharat trains. A coach of Vande Bharat Express costs Rs 5 crore. Equipped with LHB technology, lighting to safety related items are being called from countries like France and Japan in its rack. The supply of goods remained closed during the corona period, due to which the racks of Vande Bharat Express could not be ready soon.
