A man was brutally killed on the doubt of his involvement in superstitious practices under the jurisdiction of Kundam police station in Uchehra village, on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Sunil Warkade (52), resident of Uchehra village in Kundam.
Acting promptly on the information, Superintendent of Police, Siddharth Bahuguna (IPS) along with other senior officers and FSL team reached the spot and investigated the crime spot. He constituted a team under the supervision of Additional SP (North/Traffic), Sanjay Kumar Agrawal and DSP (Rural), Apoorva Kiledar for further investigation and apprehending the accused.
Police team led by SHO of Kundam police station, Pratap Singh Markam with the help of FSL team in-charge, Dr. Sunita Tiwari and dog squad collected physical and scientific evidences from the spot and sent the body for post-mortem after conducting Panchnama at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital.
Earlier, SHO, Pratap Singh Markam informed that receiving the information of finding body of a man found hanging with branch of a tree in Uchehra village a police team reached the spot where a woman named Vimla Bai Warkade (40), resident of Uchehra informed that some villagers named Mannu Uladi, Foolsah and other villagers called her husband Sunil Warkade outside the house and attacked him with punching and canes.
The miscreants dragged her husband towards Khermai Madhiya. Her husband sustained critical injuries on his face, forehead, near eye, head and chest and hanged him with branch of a tree. Learning about
the incident, she reached the spot and found that the body of her husband was hanging with the tree. Kundam police have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC and started investigation to apprehend the accused.
