PLAYWELL, one of the older teams affiliated to Vidarbha Bridge Association, somehow possesses the happy knack of emerging winners when it matters. They did it once again by emerging champions in annual Maste Memorial Duplicate Bridge Tournament organised by Vidarbha Bridge Association in their sports complex at Shankar Nagar on Sunday.
Playwell seized the top spot by scoring 86.81 VP in 6 rounds. Their strength came from teamwork displayed by team members which comprised S Chhajjed, Sameer Roy, father and son duo of Raja and Amit Rewatkar and Kumra brothers Neeraj and Sanjeev.
Tadoba Tigers, who finished second best earned 57.89 VP. Their performance came from collective efforts put on by S Watwe, AK Das, Gautam Dutta, Hemant Bhave and Vivek Daga. Nagpur IV finished second runners-up by putting together a tally of 56.49 VP. Their team included Archana Dhanwate, R Pande, S Shrivastava and Arun Sarode. Amit Rewatkar was Tournament Director for this brain game. Attractive cash prizes were awarded to all the winners.
