AG NAGPUR emerged champions of the recently concluded Indian Audit & Accounts Department (IA&AD) West Zone Carrom Team Championship 2022 which was held at Gwalior.
In the final, AG Nagpur defeated DGCA, Mumbai in 2-1 to wrest the title.
AG Nagpur’s Raju Bhaisare pocketed the singles crown defeating Dilesh Khedekar of DGCA, Mumbai 2-0, while Narayan Dhurve also of AG Nagpur lifted the veterans title beating Hemraj Bawane of AG Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
In the finals of team championship, AG Nagpur beat DGCA, Mumbai 2-1.
In the first match, Bhaisare beat Jitendra Kale of DGCA, Mumbai, 25-6, 25-11.
Mumbai bounced back winning the second match with Dilesh Khedkar of DGCA, Mumbai getting the better of Rajesh Jambhulkar 25-11, 7-25, 25-13. In the third doubles match, Sudhir Bamburde and Ravi Tirmale of AG Nagpur beat Pradeep Bharia and Nilesh Jadhav of DGCA, Mumbai to pocket the Team Championship title.
In the individual men’s tournament, Raju Bhaisare of AG Nagpur emerged singles champion after he defeated Dilesh Khedkar of DGCA, Mumbai in straight sets 25-0, 25-2.
Earlier in the quarters, he beat Rais of AG Jaipur, Rajasthan 25-0, 25-0 and in the semi-finals he beat Jitendra Kale of DGCA, Mumbai, 25-5, 25-17. Raju Bhaisare also scored two white slams, one in quarter-final and one in semis.
In the veterans event, Narayan Dhurve of AG Nagpur beat Hemraj Bawane of AG Raipur, Chhattisgarh 10-16, 25-13, 21-14 to lift the veterans title.
Praveer Kumar, Accountant General (AE), Nagpur felicitated the victorious AG Nagpur team and wished them luck for the IA & AD Inter-Zonal Tournament which is slated to be held in Guwahati, Assam from April 28 to 30.
Dinesh Mate, Senior Deputy Accountant General (Pension, Fund & Accounts), Akshay Khandare, Deputy Accountant General (Admn), Dhanraj Chavhan, Welfare Officer, Subhash Talnikar, President (AGRC), Ram Andani, Secretary (AGRC) were present.
Sushama Chaudhary and Kavita Nair represented women’s team.
Dhanraj Chavhan was manager of the team.
