BHAVESH Khandar and Pranali Borekar emerged champions of the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathon which was organised on Thursday from Samvidhan Square.

Khandar, an athlete of Right Track Club, won the 4-km race in the men’s category crossing the finish line in 15:48:72 secs. He was followed by Surjeet Rajkar of Fitness Forever who finished the race in 17:57:25 s Ayusg Ninave of Track Star Athletics Club ended third in 18:27:35s.

In women’s section, Pranali of Track Star Athletics Club won the title in 21:04:58s. Pooja Panchbuddhe of Black Bird Flyer Club finished second in 22:08:31s while Vidhi Parihar of HTKBS finished third in 22:15:55s.

The race was organised by Yashwant Telang, President, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathon Committee, Yogesh Thakre, Secretary. The prize distribution was held at Deekshabhoomi same day.

Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Department of Sports and Physical Education and Secretary, Nagpur District Athletics Association, Yashwant Telang, Kevdas Tembhekar, Suresh Dhangaye, Yogesh Thakre, Bhaskar Suryawanshi, Ram Wani, Rajabhau Tanksale, Dilip, Dr Shubhangi Bagde, Kevaldas Tembhekar, Suresh Ghamgaye, Bhaskar Suryawanshi, Gurudev Nagrale, Dr Vibekanand Singh, Anil Bhore, Manoj Yadav, Sipin Singh gave away the prizes.
