State to get two new Tiger Safaris in Shivpuri, Pachmarhi

The ‘Tiger State’ Madhya Pradesh will soon get two new tiger safaris at Shivpuri in Madhav National Park and Pachmarhi in Satpura Tiger Reserve. Madhya Pradesh Government had proposed the development of new tiger safaris in Shivpuri and Pachmarhi. The proposal earlier got initial clearances and likely to accord final approval from the Ministry of Environment and Forest by the month end.
Member Secretary of Central Zoo Authority of India Sanjay Shukla (IFS) talking to ‘The Hitavada’, confirmed that the proposal for development of two new tiger safaris were under consideration with the Ministry of Environment and Forest are likely to soon get final approval.
Once according the final approval, translocation of tigers will be carried out at Shivpuri and Pachmarhi from Bandhavgarh, Kanha and Satpura Tiger Reserves for development of new tiger safaris.
According to the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department,
enclosures will be developed at proposed sites for tigers while separate enclosures will be made for improving wildlife activities and improving prey base.
Carrying the status of ‘Tiger State’ Madhya Pradesh is on top for tigers’ population with more than 526 tigers in nine national parks spread at around 95,221 square kilometres. The State has best tiger safaris at Bandhavgarh National Park, Kanha , Pench, Panna, Sanjay Dubri and Satpura National Park. Development of two new tiger safaris will facilitate wildlife lovers and give a boost to wildlife tourism promotion in the State.
