The two-day 30th National level Punjabi Introductory Meet for Matrimonial Alliances inaugurated at Punjabi Hindu Association (PHA) community hall, on Saturday. Introductory meet was organized on the pious occasion of Baisakhi festival. Former Finance Minister and MLA, Tarun Bhanot was the chief guest while PHA President, Chandra Kumar Bhanot presided over the programme. The programme commenced with lighting lamps and worshipping lord Ganesh. Marriageable girls and boys reached the city from different states to find their life partner. Parents along with their marriageable boys and girls reached from Nagpur, Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior Raipur, Jhasi, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and other states. On the inaugural day, around 400 girls and boys who registered for marriage interacted with each according to their choices.

 

While some families said yes to each other for wedding. It may be noted that during the event, PHA members was showing pictures of marriageable boys and girls to the parents on television screen. Along with the photographs the parents were also shown other necessary details like birthplace, job, education, family and other such details. Addressing the event, PHA President Chandra Kumar Bhanot said that this introductory meet is encourages new growth towards society and first step towards new life. Those rendered special support on the occasion included Naresh Grover, Vimla Verma, Umesh Sharma Pappu, Umesh Khurana, T.S. Bedi, Anshul Malik, Rajeev Oberoi, Sudhir Mehta, Mohan Khatri, and others.
