Sub-Engineer of Lanji Parishad caught in Lokayukta net

Lokayukta Police special establishment, Jabalpur team caught a Sub-Engineer (Construction Branch In-charge), Lanji Nagar Parishad in Balaghat district while taking bribe of Rs 3,500 for preparing file of construction project.
The accused has been identified as Sanjay Prakash Sharma (59), son of late S P Sharma, posted as Sub-Engineer (Construction Branch in-charge), Lanjhi Nagar Parishad in Balaghat district.
The officers of Lokayukta police nabbed the corrupt officer Sanjay Prakash Sharma, when he was taking bribe of Rs. 3,500 from complainant, Ashok Choudhary (31), son of late Dashrath Lal Choudhary, a resident of Narmada Nagar Ward-32 in Balaghat.
According to Lokayukta, DSP, J P Verma appellant, Ashok Choudhary lodged a complaint that he is working as private contractor. He completed a construction project and applied the construction branch in-charge for preparing file of construction work. Construction Branch in-charge, Sub-Engineer, Sanjay Prakash Sharma had demanded bribe of Rs 5,000 for preparing project file. He expressed his helplessness in paying the amount and the deal was settled with Rs 3,500. Taking a serious note on the complaint, Lokayukta police fielded the appellant for collecting evidences. Once the information was confirmed, Lokayukta police team led by DSP, JP Verma reached the office of Construction Branch Nagar Parishad Lanjhi, Balaghat and trapped the corrupt officer of government department red-handed when he was taking bribe of Rs. 3,500 from the appellant. Lokayukta police have registered a case against the corrupt officer under relevant Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
