To vent ire against killing of Congress leader in Brijmohan Nagar, a number of locals led by Congress leaders, on Thursday, staged protest in front of Gorakhpur Police Station. They also submitted a charter of demands to senior police officials.
Congress leaders said some anti-social elements killed Congress worker, Basant Patel at Brijmohan Nagar, Rampur, on Wednesday night. The incident has brewed resentment amongst locals against the police administration.
On Thursday residents of Brijmohan Nagar, along with City Congress Committee President Jagat Bahadur Singh, reached Gorakhpur police station and staged protest. They demanded the police to ensure night patrolling in entire Brijmohan Nagar regularly, establish police post with adequate staff near the temple in Brijmohan Nagar.

search of people having criminal record and are involved in anti-social activities like trading of illegal liquor, ganja and other such stuffs must be displaced from Brajmohan Nagar to elsewhere.
People demanded senior police officials to fulfill all abovementioned demands early and ensure proper security arrangements in Brajmohan Nagar so that the incidents like murder not occur in future. Those participated in the protest were Sonia Rajput, Asha Ben, Meena Vishwakarma, Vinita Ahirwar, Sapna Kol, Sanjana Patel, Meena Dubey, Shikha Balmik, Sunita Raikwar, Sangeeta Thakur, Meena Thakur and others.
