Sihora Gram Panchayat of Shapura development block, Jabalpur district has been selected for the ‘Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Award- Year 2020-21’ for the third time by the Ministry of Panchayatraj, Government of India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi would virtually present this award along with cash prize in a programme organised to mark National Panchayati Raj Day at Gram Panchayat Palli of Samba district, Jammu and Kashmir on April 24, 2022.
It may be noted that Gram Panchayat Sihoda is one of the gram panchayats amongst 11 other Gram Panchayat, selected by Directorate of Panchayat Raj 11 gram panchayat for this award. Further, Gram Panchayat Sihoda earlier has received this award in the year 2017-18 and year 2018-19 with cash prize of Rs 8 lakhs.
Jila Panchayat Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Saloni Sidana informed that Gram Panchayat Sihoda of Shapura development block has received this Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Award for year
2020-21 for its efficient works in women empowerment, cleanliness campaign, infrastructure development, water conservation, organic farming, taxation, literacy, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Abhiyan and Nature conservation. She further informed that live telecast of National Panchayati Raj Day would be broadcasted across the India at every Garm Sabha. In this programme Prime Minister Narendra Modi would virtually address the panchayat representatives of the entire nation.
