YOUNG Sai Sharma won the Nagpur District 49th Weekend Rapid Chess Tournament that was organised by Nagpur District Chess Association (NDCA) in a joint venture with Dhanwate National College at NDCA Hall, Sports complex, DNC on Sunday.

As many as four players — Sai, Adnan Sabir, Ayush Ramteke and Mradul Yadav, finished the event with six and half points each from eight matches. Tie-breaker rules separated the four and they finished in that order.

Saksham Singh and Sahejveer Singh Maras with six points apiece followed the top four at fifth and sixth spots.

The next three players — Sanskar Gaigore, Samarjeet Bisen and Arul Shinde finished with five and a half points each. Shraddha Bajaj completed the top ten with five points in her kitty.

The prizes were distributed at the hands of Supreet Maras and Chief Arbiter IA Pravin Pantawane.
