The district administration is continuously carrying out a joint drive to free Government land from illegal possession. In the series, the team demolished cement concrete road and other permanent structures which were erected on the land of Madhotal pond, on Thursday.
The administration had started the drive early in the morning and continued it for hours to raze the encroachments spread over 40 acres of land. During the drive, a heavy police force was deployed to avoid any untoward incident. Besides, senior police officials, SDM and Municipal Corporation officers were remain present during the entire drive.
According to the information, the district administration with due support of the Police and the Municipal Corporation on Thursday conducted the drive to demolish encroachments situated on the land of Madhotal pond. SDM Aadhartal Namah Shivay Arjaria informed that land mafias have illegally possessed about 40 acres land of Madhotal pond. They were doing plotting on the government land. He informed that the market value of the land situated adjacent to the ISBT is around Rs. 280 crores. Kapil Gupta and Sonu Jain had illegally occupied the land for years.
SDM Arjaria informed that the administration had also received complaints land mafia Maqsood and Rajesh Tiwari were selling plots on the land. He said after investigating the complaints an FIR was lodged against both the person a few days back. Arjaria said the marriage hall, which is constructed on pond’s land would also be dismantled.
Govt land worth 30 cr freed on Nagpur road
Following the directions of State Government, the district administration is executing anti-mafia drive in entire district. Accordingly, on Thursday the district administration conducted a joint drive with the police personnel and got freed about 8 acres of government land from illegal occupation of a land mafia in village Narayanpur, located on Nagpur road. The market value of the government land is about Rs 30 crore.
Following the direction of Collector Dr Ilaiyaraja T and Superintendent of Police Siddhartha Bahuguna, a team led by SDM P K Sengupta executed the drive and freed the government land from illegal occupancy.
SDM Sengupta informed that the encroachment done by Mafia Habbu Khan, resident of Narayanpur was removed during the drive. He said Habbu Khan has occupied the land about 150 feet away from the main road near Hotel Royal Orbit. He did fencing around the land and was doing farming on government land.
The SDM said as per the directions of Collector Dr. Ilaiyaraaja T, some part of the land is freed from illegal possession of the mafia and the land would be transferred to beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and rest part would be freed early.
