Ritika set to make Uber Cup debut

RITIKA Thaker of Nagpur is all set to make her debut at the Uber Cup under way at Bangkok. Ritika will be seen in action with her partner Simran Singhi in the second women’s doubles match against USA to be played on Tuesday.
Ritika-Simran will play Lauren Lam and Kodi Tang Lee in their Group D match.
In the first outing, Simran played with Shruti Mishra but the duo lost against Canada.
Winning against USA will bolster India’s chances to make it to the quarter-finals. A student of Hislop College, Ritika practices at Ajay Dayal Badminton Academy in Nagpur and at Suchitra Academy in Hyderabad.
Speaking from Bangkok, a confident Ritika said she was very happy that she has been given a chance to play and would give her best for the country. This being her first Uber Cup, Ritika is very excited and wants to give her best. She said the team is having good practise under the watchful eyes of Maithas Boe, doubles specialist coach for India. She is also very happy to be with likes of PV Sindhu who is very helpful.
