Even as the Maharashtra Minister for Industries & Mining Subhash Desai, during his recent visit to the city, said that the date and venue of the proposed ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’ investor summit in Nagpur will be finalised in couple of weeks, sources told The Hitavada that it will held either in September or October.

The State Government is planning to host the investor summit after the rainy season is over. “The concerned authorities are working on the project and giving shape to the event planned for the first time in Nagpur,” said the sources, adding that all the concerned senior officials and departments have been asked to initiate preparations. The authorities are in the process of identifying the venue for the event.

It is being also said that the Government is leaving no stone unturned to attract investors especially in the Vidarbha region and MIHAN will be highlighted as the key destination for investment.

MIHAN, a flagship project of the State Government aimed at boosting industrial development in the less developed Vidarbha region, is having a world-class infrastructure necessary to attract industrial investments.

In an attempt to attract investments in Vidarbha, Subhash Desai has recently announced that the ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’ investor summit will be held in Nagpur.

When contacted, Rajesh Zanzad, Chief Engineer, MIDC, said that the date and venue of the mega event has not yet been finalised. “However, higher authorities in Mumbai are working on the project. A

crucial meeting of all the

stakeholders is likely in the next 10-15 days in the city wherein a clear picture may emerge,” he said.

It is important to note that in the previous edition of the summit held in Mumbai, the State Government had signed MoUs worth more than Rs 5,000 crore which was expected to pave the way for creation of more than 9,000 jobs.

“As the State Government is making policies to boost industrial growth in the State, our focus is on Vidarbha region. And thus we are all set to celebrate the upcoming event in Nagpur and welcome all those who wish to support the initiative. Let us roll out the red carpet for the investors in the city,” he said.
