POST corona pandemic, the trekking and Everest expeditions have started once again and seven youths from Nagpur have successfully climbed the Everest Base Camp recently. Daksh Khante, 15, and Janhavi Dorsatwar, 19, along with Abhinay Singh, Rahul Yadav, Sachin Palewar and Vivek Thakur participated in the event. The Everest Base Camp expedition, organised by CAC All-rounder, was led by a young climber Pranav Bandebuche, who climbed Everest first from Nagpur. On April 24, the team flew from Kathmandu to Lukla in a small plane and reached Lukla at an altitude of 2800 metres. In the 130km trek, they covered a total distance of 5348 metres till May 1 by crossing Fukding, Namche, Tengbuche, Dingbuche, Lobuche, Gorakshepa and Everest Base Camp on their way. On fifth day of their voyage at Dingbuche, they successfully climbed Mount Nagarjuna at an altitude of 5024m.
 
The group of young climbers overcame many difficulties like the high velocity winds, snowfall and the ever-changing weather. During the trekking, the group started climbing for Everest at 5360 metres after paying tribute to monument at Lukla made to remember the climbers who died while climbing Mount Ama Dablam, Mount Island, Mount Thamsekaru and Mount Lobuche. Trekkers were delighted and congratulated each other for their achievement. It took lot of patience, perseverance, efforts and energy to make it happen. The weather conditions were tough on the way back and the team had to reach Kathmandu by helicopter. Young climbers are being lauded for completing this difficult expedition.
