VEDIKA Mourya will lead the Nagpur district girls football team that will participate in the Inter-District Under-17 Championship to be held at Nashik from Thursday. Vinannti Pandam will be Vedika’s deputy. Nashik District Football Association, under the aegis of Western India Football Association, will be organising the State championship. Nagpur will play their first match against Ratnagiri on the opening day. If Nagpur win their first match, they will play the pre-quarters against the winners of the match between Bhandara and hosts Nashik on May 14. The quarters will be held on May 16 and the semis on May 17. The final will be held on May 18. Twenty-eight districts from all over Maharashtra are taking part in the championship. The team: Vedika Mourya (Captain), Vinannti Pandam (Vice-Captain), Mahal Shaikh, Nupoor Gajbhiye, Gunjan Burde, Siddhi Gopalani, Riddhi Gopalani, Selena Bhoyar, Kumudini Kawale, Ekta Shahu, Teena Sarva, Bhumika Deshbratar, Anita Markhande, Gungun Pandit, Safiya Praveen Ali, Ananya Diwane, Mayuri Kakade, Bhumshwari Kuranjekar.
