Sensation prevailed in Hanumantal area when some trouble-makers lodged an FIR about theft of 300-year-old ancient idol of Goddess Padmavati weighing around 70 kilograms from Parshavnath Digamber Jain bada Mandir, on Monday. However, after investigation, it turned out to be matter of dispute between office-bearers of the temple management committee.
The matter came to light when some members of Parshavnath Digamber Jain
Bada Mandir at Shri Adinath Digamber Jain Atishay Teerth lodged a complaint at Hanumantal police station about theft of the ancient idol of Goddess Padmavati.
The news spread in the area and a large number of devotees gathered at the spot and questioned the law and order arrangements.
Learning about the incident, a police team also reached the spot and took statements of office-bearers of temple committee and complainants.
SHO of Hanumantal police station, Umesh Golhani informed that after taking the statements of office-bearers, it was learnt that the ancient idol was shifted from the temple for its re-installation at a new temple. It was just the drama of some trouble-makers to defame the name of office-bearers of the temple committee for their internal dispute. The idol is safe at a protected place and will be soon installed in the new temple premises.
